| CPI of Harbin up by 7.5 Percent in the First Quarter, Middle Level in That of China |

According to a survey of departments concerned, CPI of Harbin in the first quarter increased by 7.5 percent year-on-year. Specifically, that in Jan. rose by 7.5 percent, in Feb., 7.6 percent, a record high of 11 years, and in Mar., 7.3 percent. In addition, prices went up in more areas, that is, except prices of means of transportation and communication slightly decreased by 1.1 percent, prices of other seven categories all increased. Among them, price of food rose by 16.9 percent, of household appliance and maintenance service by 10.8 percent, of tobacco, liquor and others by 9.5 percent, of garment by 4.5 percent, of housing by 4.2 percent, of medical care and personal facilities by 1.0 percent and of recreation, education, culture articles and services by 0.7 percent.
